Private Training

This program runs for 6 weeks. We meet once per week for roughly 45 minutes -1 hour.  We can work with multiple dogs in this program, but there may be additional equipment charges for multiple dogs. You do not need to purchase separate programs for each dog. Equipment is included in the program, but this covers only one dog, additional dogs will run you about $250 each. We even allow your friends to come participate in the training if you can coordinate to make one appointment. The program starts out very basic, but goes through to advanced off leash training in the six week period. No worrying about having to purchase another program to learn more advanced stuff! This all in one program helps you achieve your goals, custom tailored to YOU and YOUR dog! But, the general goals we are looking to achieve with this program are:

  1. OFF leash obedience. Having the dog recall without a leash in high distraction environments

  2. ON leash manners. Having the dog walk politely past other dogs, food, traffic, etc. (Yes, even reactive dogs who bark constantly meet this goal!)

  3. Maintaining calm behavior during events such as guests at the door, dinner time, people walking past the house, etc. We teach the dog to stay calmly while you greet guests and allow them into the house, then you can let the dog up to greet them when he or she is calm.

  4. Heeling OFF leash. Have you ever seen someone walking and drop the leash and their dog still stays at their side and follows along with them? Or have you ever tried carrying bags and boxes into your house while holding a leash of an excited dog? imagine being able to let go of that leash and carry your groceries into the house, with the dog walking calmly at your side!

  5. Sit and Stay. We go above and beyond in the sit stay. There are plenty of programs that will teach your dog to sit so that you can walk away six feet, then return or call them. What we offer is a dog that can sit and stay while food is dropped on the floor, while you open the door to sign for a package, while other dogs pass by on the trail, while children are running around, or any other high distraction situation that may arise and require your attention elsewhere. We give the dog enough impulse control to be able to maintain a safe sit, stay while you handle whatever may come your way.

  6. Developmental training games. We teach you how to make training fun for both you and the dog. We have games that we teach you during these lessons so that you are practicing obedience, but it doesn't feel like it. It feels like playing a game of hide and seek with the dog! Or it feels like "Doggy Parkour", which is actually a fabulous confidence building exercise, as well as a wonderful proprioceptive development option for growing brains and bodies!

Of course, this program carries our absolute guarantee, where we will NOT leave you hanging if you are struggling. We can extend the lessons to cover additional problem solving if necessary. If you are struggling badly enough that the dog needs a more intensive boarding program, we will prorate what you paid for lessons into the boarding fee. This means, you never have to pay for two programs with your dog! And lastly, lets not forget our "Training For Life Guarantee" where we will allow you to come back for follow up lessons (2 per year for life) and free access to our group sessions for the life of the dog!

Boarding Programs

This program runs for 4 weeks. The dog stays in our home and integrates into our pack of dogs. We have a 100% open door policy, meaning we will never tell you that you can't come see your dog! In fact, we require you to come visit and learn right alongside your dog. This is not a "drop them off and come back when they're done" program. If we don't teach you how we made your dog so successful, they won't be able to maintain that success at home. We also have a "train the second dog in the home for free" option, where we will do private lessons for only the cost of equipment, with additional dogs at home. This helps familiarize you with our techniques and helps you prepare for the dog that is in boarding to come home and be successful! We even allow your close friends to come participate in the training if you can coordinate to make one appointment. The program goes through to advanced off leash training in the 4 week period. We do all the hard work here, then follow up with you for the rest of the dog's life to ensure that they stay successful and continue to progress! We cover all the same basics in our private lessons program, but we put in the hard work here, upfront, so that you don't have to struggle with daily lessons. This is a great option for people who are extremely busy and can't handle day to day training sessions with their dog. Or a great option for people who travel frequently and want to have their dog trained while they are out of town.

To reiterate, what we train during this program is:

Of course, this program carries our absolute guarantee, where we will NOT leave you hanging if you are struggling. We can extend the boarding to cover additional problem solving if necessary. And we also give you an additional 30 days once the dog goes home to call and let us know you are struggling, then we will rebook the boarding absolutely for free! In 8 years that we have had this policy in place, we have only had three dogs come back. Considering that we board and train around 100 dogs per year, we like those statistics! And lastly, lets not forget our "Training For Life Guarantee" where we will allow you to come back for follow up lessons and free access to our group sessions for the life of the dog! With this program, the number of private lesson is unlimited for life.

Service Dog Programs

Our service dog program is mostly owner-trained, meaning the dog lives with you throughout the program and we teach you how to train them to our strict public access standards. The Program covers ADA required task training. This can mean helping detect low blood sugar, carrying items from room to room, retrieving help in an emergency, helping with balance and mobility, or alerting to oncoming medical episodes, including anxiety alerting. We do not train seeing eye dogs, but we do train most other types of service dogs. We do not require you to go get a prescription for a service dog from your doctor or jump through any additional hoops to join our program. If you have a need for a service dog, we will help you determine what the dog can do to assist you. All dogs entering the service dog program must meet strict temperament guidelines and may not show signs of aggression, extreme fear or anxiety, and must show a willingness to be in public and work in public. Most of these programs will last anywhere form six months to eighteen months, but we do not set time limits on the dogs in the service dog program. We will continue working with you and your dog until they are ready to be an asset to you when you need them most. Not all dogs are going to be a good fit for this program, but because of our background in behavior modification, we try to work through small problems with the dogs when possible. Boarding is available at a discounted rate to our service dog clients, though it is not required to graduate the program. The pricing includes all equipment needed for the dog, as well as a very well made vest, which comes in 16 color options to match your personal style! Upon graduating, our dogs are able to meet or exceed ADA guidelines for service dogs and they can and do hold up in a court of law! We actually had a client with an issue where they were being discriminated against the breed of their dog and we went to court to testify on their behalf that it was an actual service dog, including records of training and the client was able to win their case and the court ruled that the company could not discriminate against his breed because the dog did, in fact, meet legal requirements to be classified as a service dog. This is one of the few programs we take payment plans on, but regardless of final cost, the deposit is always $1500. The balance has to be paid off upon graduation, but we do not harass clients for payments. We do have financing options available to those who qualify as well.
